Scouts

The temporary arrangements to keep Perseus afloat are in place - Phoenix and Perseus are running together (at Carnarvon School) - for now! Ian Noble is standing in (but only until Easter) as section leader for Perseus.

The good news is that we have a volunteer to take on permanent leadership of Perseus, but this will only happen if we can get some support (we can't have one person running a section on their own). In order to keep Perseus open we need one or two volunteers to help the leader in charge. We need someone to assist with running weekly programmes and activities (working with the Scouts) and someone to deal with the admin, paperwork and finances (could be working with the Scouts too, or not if that suits you better). We are very flexible and can adjust roles to suit the preferences of volunteers.

Talk to one of the leaders - it might suit you!

We have 3 months to find at least one (and preferrably 3) new leaders for the Scout sections. Without these volunteers Perseus will almost certainly have to close and about 20 Scouts will lose their Scouting and have to leave the Group.

Cubs

The new arrangements for Pegasus are now in place; the Pack is meeting on Wednesdays (6.45pm to 8.15pm) at Archbishop Cranmer School in Aslockton. Meredith Teasdale is the new Akela.

SATURDAY 28th JANUARY - we went bag packing at Morrisons (Gamston) and raised £1,384.18 + a collection of foriegn coins, a trolley token & a button.

The disappointing aspect was that we only had 56 youngsters (of a Group total of 150) attend - that represents just 37%. When we had particularly asked for everyone to attend that seems pretty low. Obviously some people would be unable to come, but surely not nearly 100 (63%)!

Perhaps you can come next time! We're doing it again on 22nd September, if we get 100+ come and help we can cover all the tills all day and probably raise more than £2,000.
